We started a group called "Women of H.E.A.R.T's" (Hope Even At Rough Times). We are doing our 3rd sub for santa event, right now we are giving a Christmas to 16 kids, and just picked up 6 more. We have been fortunate to receive wonderful donations, new and used, and some money.  We hosted a holiday gift fair to help raise money for this and Kier Property Management was kind enough to let us use one of their buildings to arrange this. There are 3 women helping me and several local people who have stepped up in ways. We want to thank Chera's mom and her church for taking on some of the children, providing coats, and gifts, as well as Michelle A and some of the women she works with to give a helping hand. And thanks to Patty G and her co workers, who have donated cash and a great selection of darling girls clothes.  We still could use any help, particularly a skateboard for a 16 yr old, and clothes for big kids, 30x32, 32x30 38x34 jeans and anything for 17 yr girl,(2)
Merry Christmas and Thanks for everyone who has helped make this successful.
if anyone is interested in being involved with our group, let us know. We are looking for people who love to give back and pay it forward, we are doing 3 fund raisers in 2010. We meet once a month to do dinner and go over ideas and laughs.

The Davis County Drug Court Program PDF Print E-mail

We are designed for non-violent offenders and are a 15 month commitment. Random drug testing, court appearances, and treatment are required throughout the program.

In that many of our Drug Court Participants have a long history of drug use, we find a high incidence of drug related arrests, divorce, and unemployment. Many of our clients are finding work for the first time in many months or years, so financial burdens are a part of their new-found reality. Many single-household mothers are approaching the Holiday Season with little hope of providing a "Merry Christmas" to their children.

To that end, we are asking for help through a "Sub-for-Santa" program to help make this Holiday a little more "Merry". . . Cash as well as toys, articles of clothing, and other offerings would be most welcome.
